The food was good. It was made fast and hot. There's a lot of foot traffic and I came around lunchtime and had no problem finding parking. It's very open and fresh and the employees are very kind and professional definitely seems like a family owned business you would want to support.

I found this place on Postmates. I was craving snapper since going pescatarian and finding out that's a great fish for my blood type. Overall, the food was ok. I had the Cajun snapper and fries with coleslaw (which I don't eat because it had dairy mayo in the mixture). The fries were thick cut, which I love. The fish was tasty with a lot of seasonings. They give you hot sauce and tarter with the order. I might continue to order from this place. I may not go to the location because I'm not sure if I like the area it's located in.

I've been here many times over the past 15 years. It's the "other" restaurant (besides Fisherman's Outlet) in The Seafood District. It's the one with the smaller menu, lower prices and shorter crowds/wait times. It's also the closer of the two to Skid Row. Due to the immediate proximity to perhaps the most hard core and entrenched homeless people community in the USA, the atmosphere suffers accordingly. If you dare to try to sit outside (especially on the east side) you're likely to be panhandled, or asked for food. At best you're probably going to be subjected to cigarette smoke. These hazards come with the territory. Atmosphere aside, the quality (freshness, preparation, portion size) of the food (especially seafood) is excellent. There is no better value to be found in Los Angeles. (it also comes out fast - almost always in under 10 minutes) The plastic silverware isn't worthy of the food. I try to bring my own silverware if I'm planning on eating there (and of course anything fried is going to lose most of its quality by the time you get it home).

I ordered to go and I had fish & chips and clam chowder. The food here isn't bad. The fish was crispy and you can't go wrong with fish & chips. I enjoyed the clam chowder too. They have a good array of options which I'd love to try in future visits. The staff was great and pleasant to deal with. There is parking with indoor and patio seating

Not only is the food tasty there customers service is excellent I have grown to love this family They are a true blessing in our country

Simple tasty food, prepared to order. Fresh sole and salmon with rice. Small salad. "Cajun sauce" was perfect. Been wanting to come for years. Service was friendly quick and no nonsense. I hated the cheap plastic dinnerware- should be recyclable! On first view the place doesn't look like much but great to sit outdoors. We will be back

Catch 21 is my favorite place to eat while working downtown near skid Row. They have the best deal on seafood. My favorite meal is the grilled sole fish on a bed of rice, something like pilaf rice, and a cup of mango lemonade. The fish is always fresh. Location is everything. So, in this case, Catch 21 is on the fringe of the Los Angeles skid row epidemic. This restaurant is not where you want to go for a romantic date. But if you want an excellent old-fashioned fresh fish, lunch or dinner, this is your place. The serving portions are also very generous. And it's a reasonable price too. This family-run business is the best option for the seafood lover on a budget. Tell them Omar sent you. Bon appétit.
